We fell in love the moment we saw it in the shop window. “Buy me,” it said, “I’ll be a fabulous addition to all your lovely bags and I’ll be in my prime this spring and summer. What’s more, I can take your casual attire to a whole new cool.” Perhaps it then winked; perhaps we imagined it from lack of sleep.

Either way, it was a marriage we couldn’t miss.
