Not to repeat ourselves by always going on about her but – we can’t help but see Audrey Hepburn in these “Ryde” suede ballet flats. Available in purple, gray, black and adorned with a decorative bow, they also have what Ms. Maggie Prescott in Funny Face would have said, – “grace, elegance and pizzazz.”
In which case they were tailor made for Ms. Hepburn whose childhood dream was to become a ballerina and dance in Convent Garden like Dame Margot Fonteyn.
So here are the shoes for the wannabes in all of us; particularly for those us that were too tall, too awkward, too round or too scrawny to be a dancer and yet, were desperate for pointes. May we always aspire to have the perfect posture and graceful movements of a ballerina and dear God, while we’re at it, a dash of Ms. Hepburn’s authentic charm wouldn’t go amiss either.
These shoes will be a start. If not, they will at least, “give ‘em the old pizzazz.”
